Nestled in a new development in Barker street, Randwick, Baccomatto Osteria ( yes its a mouthful) offers a paired down Italian family style experience. Osteria translates as Tavern, but there is nothing boisterous about Baccomatto. Sunday lunch was relatively quiet so we opted for the set price 4 course lunch for $55 per person and a glass or Italian Rose. The range of dishes was well balanced and perfectly cooked including a fragrant onion foccacia, featherlight battered squid, porcetta with sage and cabbage salad and a delicate cocoa crusted tiramisu. The service here is always exemplary, even though we had a relative newbee, I am sure they will soon learn the ropes.
